The inspiration for the business name, 360 Pet Medical, came directly from the clients of Dr. Jon Stites, DVM. When we interviewed dog and cat owners, they described his approach as whole-family, complete pet profiling by family lifestyle, climate, breed, activity. Thus 360 Pet Medical was born. We discovered too that the bonds the 360 Pet Medical team have with their personal pets is key to their perspective of pets as family members. The now famous Dr. Stites and his dog, May campaign flowed naturally from these insights. Billboards, ads, a Main Street clinic, local give-back such as “Pounds for Hounds” helped a new clinic become the cat’s meow veterinary care in Bozeman, Montana.

On Thursday, March 5 at 8:15 AM, an explosion caused by a natural gas leak exploded and decimated five businesses and shut down business for days. Debris was found 10 blocks away, windows shattered and exposed stores on Main Street. As of Friday, March 6, there was still one Bozeman resident unaccounted for, and at this time the only suspected casualty. The events of this week have been called the worst destruction in the history of our otherwise peaceful town. Photos by Cary Silberman and Joe Bergantine.

Minutes after the explosion, Cary, who was the only one in the office at the time ran outside and captured this on his cell phone.

Smoke started billowing out of the space where Boodles restaurant used to be.

By 11 o’clock there was a 2-block perimeter setup around the explosion site and over 70 firefighters on scene.

At 5 o’clock Northwestern Energy crews were still working to put in a second valve on the gas line to get it turned off.

Fire crews continued to douse the wreckage with flames into the night. It was around 1:30 AM when they finally got the gas turned off.

The Governor declared a state of emergency which allowed National Guard troops to be called in to support local law enforcement who had been on call all day. The National Guard stayed on duty for 72 hours after being activated and was released on Sunday.

The aftermath of the explosion was heavily covered by locals on Twitter and flickr under the twitter-style hash tag #bozexplod.

From 1981-1984 our own Bridget Cavanaugh was a policy debater for Bozeman High and now 25 years later, O’Berry | Cavanaugh is privileged to help the now nationally ranked Speech and Debate team promote it’s community exhibition and fundraiser, Big Talk on Sunday March 1.

Of the event, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle says:

Despite what could be characterized as the school’s most phenomenal history of success, the Bozeman High speech and debate team enjoys relative anonymity compared to their athletic colleagues. Call it a function of our sports-fixated culture, but where an even marginally successful football team can draw thousands of spectators, speech and debaters are lucky to draw a few hundred.

But for those who have yet to sample the remarkable talents of these young competitors, an opportunity presents itself on Sunday — not only to witness these students in action, but to help them on their way to the national championships, as well.

An exhibition of team members’ talents starts at 7 p.m., in the Ellen Theatre, with doors opening at 6:30. Tickets will be on sale at the door and are $8 for adults and $5 for students, with any additional donations gladly accepted.

And it will be an exhibition that promises to be entertaining. It may lack some of glitz of basketball or football, but students who excel in speech and debate have acquired an extraordinary skill, a lifetime skill, one that could lead them to success in any number of career fields.

A shout out to Kira Stoops, designer, and Wade Dokken who generously funded the creative.

We love working with smart, progressive local businesses as evidenced by our work with Bozeman’s favorite downtown gym. Mike and Rolf are Bozeman’s Ministers of Fitness. So, we designed a site as tough and rugged and opinionated as they are. We know first-hand what makes them distinct because each and every O’Berry | Cavanaugh team member works out religiously (well, almost everyone) at The Main Street Gym. From Mike’s cleverly written newsletter, to fitness tweets to their irreverent sidewalk sandwich boards, they are doing everything right. Although, I suspect it helps that they are always asking our team for advice and ideas while we sweat it out in our personal training sessions. Now that’s smart.

The management team gave O’Berry | Cavanaugh full-reign to re-brand the company with a completely new name, new identity, new personality and web experience. Essentially a web 2.0 appointment booking site, we needed to design a super-easy consumer interface as well as a compelling online sales-funnel to persuade small businesses such as hair stylists, massage therapists and personal trainers to purchase directly online. “Thanks Schedulicity” for making O’Berry | Cavanaugh your marketing partner! If you need your website to sell your product or service online, we have lots of experience doing this.
